Since moving to Jacksonville, I’ve had such a hard time finding Japanese food that truly tastes authentic and high-quality. Then we found Nomu Izakaya, and honestly, it has been BY FAR one of the best restaurants we’ve discovered since it opened. We’ve been loyal customers and plan to stay that way for as long as we can. They have never failed to impress us. Every dish we’ve ordered has easily been a 1000/10. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. But it’s not just the food that keeps us coming back. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is incredibly friendly, and we genuinely feel like they remember and appreciate us. Hearing things like, “It’s great to see you again!” or “Long time no see!” when we walk in honestly makes such a difference. It’s such a nice feeling to feel welcomed somewhere. I will say, it’s ALWAYS busy—and for good reason! 😂 Part of me wishes I could gatekeep this place, but social media had to ruin that for me. LOL. JK! My husband and I stopped by here as a walk-in, and although there was a short wait, it wasn't long at all and was absolutely worth it. From the moment we walked in, the inviting aroma throughout the restaurant immediately increased our appetite and set the tone for a great dining experience. The service was attentive, friendly, and efficient despite the restaurant being busy. The highlight of our meal was definitely the fresh grilled skewers. They were expertly prepared, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite tasted fresh and showcased the quality of the ingredients.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant—it has a warm and inviting vibe that’s perfect for relaxing. The purple sweet potato cocktail was not only beautiful but also delicious. The skewers were flavorful, and the appetizers were all well prepared. Overall, it’s a great spot to gather with friends, and I’d definitely come back again.

Food was amazing. We ordered a variety of things from the menu and nothing disappointed. Service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our first time and I'd say after trying many sushi places, we would say Nomu is the best in Jacksonville!! Can't wait to visit again!!!

We’ve been here a few times 😂 We love this place! Great atmosphere and staff. Reservations are recommended because they are fully booked most nights. But they offer seating at the drink bar, or sushi bar that is first come first serve availability! Definitely try the shrimp skewer! (Or any other, they have a window you can watch them cook them from your seat). You can also earn points which has gotten us free food! I don’t have a photo of everything but highly recommend: Edamame, truffle fries, miso glazed Brussels sprouts, yellowtail jalapeno, (staple) miso creamy udon, (!!!) chicken teriyaki don, Kabuki salmon roll, (my go to), Emperor’s crunch roll, Black river roll (his go to), Trio no maki roll, Shrimp tempura roll, Unagi roll, Masunosuke (King Salmon) hand roll They have a breville espresso machine and a full bar! But we always opt for Sake. (We order one and split it) Since we have come for special occasions, we have gotten to try some of their desserts as well!
